25 Years of Experience

Michael Thornton started the business with finishing and installing wall beds for a local manufacturer. This morphed into adding kitchen and bath refinishing of first-time buyers for those who just needed a little refresh and antique restorations. To date Michael has been blessed to also be involved in refinishing as well as new builds of luxury homes and is proud to have added wineries to his repertory.

Michael Thornton
is co-owner/founder of Final Touch Finishing, Inc. Mike started in the antique restoration business at Stewart Roth Antiques immediately out of high school in Orange County, CA. This undertaking began with the owner, his father and Mike. Within 6 years the company grew to 20 employees doing over 3 million in sales.

At that point Mike left the woodworking industry and together with his dad and 3 brothers, started a business called Diesel Logistics. He learned hands-on the development of a new business, specializing in diesel engine repairs. He worked there for 7 years while working his way up to general manager.

Mike returned to the woodworking field and continued to learn the wood refinishing and restoration processes with a company called Showcase Finishing, working his way to manager. Mike had an opportunity to move to Sonoma County with his family, where he brought his years of skill and experience to start Final Touch Finishing, Inc.

On a personal note, Mike has been very involved in his son’s dirt bike racing, and he spends lots of family time camping.
